Ingredients
  • 4 chicken legs
  • 1 rack of pork spare ribs (1 kg)
  • 6 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp Suzi Wan® Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Suzi Wan® Fish Sauce
  • 3 shallots
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 knob of ginger
  • 1 tsp Chinese five spice
  • olive oil
Tip
For a traditional accompaniment, serve with rice or rice vermicelli dressed in oil flavoured with spring onions. To make the spring-onion oil, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil per person in a saucepan, add finely-sliced spring onions, stir, then cook over a low heat for 5 minutes. Leave to cool then dress the rice or vermicelli with the oil.

Preparation
  1. Combine the honey, soy sauce, fish sauce and Chinese five-spice. Peel and finely chop the shallots, garlic and ginger, then add to the mixture. Bring the mixture to the boil in a saucepan.
  2. Remove from the heat. Leave to cool.
  3. Put the chicken and pork in the marinade and leave to marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the meats then cook on the barbecue for around 20 minutes, turning regularly.
